Independent candidate Philippe Nahimana calls for transparency during elections, arguing he will not accept the elections results should he find out that there were vote fraud during elections counting process.
He said this while campaigning on Monday in Musanze District’s Muhoza and Kinigi Sectors in Northern Province ahead of the upcoming presidential polls slated on Friday August 4th, 2017.
Mpayimana told journalists that he believes the upcoming elections will be held in transparency and with freedom like the campaigns are being held in good environment, but threatens he will not accept the elections results once they are not held accordingly.
He said, “If we are campaigning in good environment… with transparency, I wish elections, too, were held in the same way. I will not be having representatives at each of the polling station’s room, but I would like to ask every Rwandan who will enter the polling room to remember that vote fraud or forced voting are contrary to the law. They should make sure I don’t find out even a single polling station where it happens”.
“We want a country of transparency; that is why if I find out that there were people involved in vote fraud or forced people to vote, I will totally not accept it,” he added.
Mpayimana told residents in Musanze that he will solve the issue of economic inequality between riches and poors that appears in Rwanda, as he eyes economic inclusiveness until people stop crying of poverty.
He added that, if he is elected president, he will improve people capacity building focusing on small and medium businesses, which he claims the ruling government does not give it the value it deserves.
