The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) Disciplinary Committee has given AS Kigali Goalkeeper Jean Claude Ndoli a two-match suspension and a fine of Rwf. 100,000 over poor misconduct.
The disciplinary committee sat on November 11 to review a case in which Ndoli was accused an offence against honour following an incident which occurred on October 30 after his side lost to Rayon Sports 2-0 in an Azam Rwanda Premier League match staged at Stade de Kigali.
Ndoli accused the referees of taking bias decisions against teams playing against APR Fc or Rayon Sports and continued to say that there can’t be any development of Rwandan football if referees continue to favour APR Fc and Rayon Sports respectively.
Meeting the Disciplinary committee, Ndoli said that it was anger that prompted him to say the unhealthy words towards the match officials and asked to be pardoned.
“It’s my first time that I have been summoned by the FERWAFA Disciplinary committee in my entire career as a footballer. I was irritated seeing referees not considering fouls committed on our players or they would rough decisions against my team,”
“However, am really sorry for my actions and conduct which should not depict any experienced professional footballer of my caliber,” added Ndoli.
After reviewing the case, the disciplinary committee took the decision to have Ndoli suspended for two matches and a pay a fine of Rwf. 100, 000 as stipulated in article 55 of the FERWAFA Disciplinary code.
Article 55; Offense against honour, states that whoever, by any means whatsoever, including gestures, insults, or broadcast messages, offends the honour of an individual, shall be suspended for (a) match(es).
If the author is a player, the suspension will be at least two (2) matches;
In section two, it further explains that if the victim of the attack is FERWAFA itself or one of its organs or officials, the duration of the suspension will be doubled. In addition, a fine of at least one hundred thousand Rwandan Francs (RWF 100,000) shall be imposed.
Ndoli will now miss AS Kigali’s next two matches against Amagaju in Match Day 5 due on November 20 and Gicumbi Fc scheduled for November 25 respectively.
