Rwanda genocide suspect, Ladislas Ntaganzwa who has been flown to Rwanda from Democratic Republic of Congo for trial; has been appeared in court today 19 December 2016 but his case scheduled to resume next year after going through the dossier.
For the second time, the high court decide to put off the next court hearing on 6 March 2017 after the suspect and his attorney Me Laurent Bugabo requested for extended time to go through the case and to find witnesses.
The prosecution chaired by Nkusi Faustin in the case, commented on suspect’s request for three months and said that only two months are enough since their concern will be only what has been stated by the prosecution as well as to get ready for another court hearing on whether he admits or denies allegations.

Ntaganzwa weighs in on technical issues as the use of computers still a hindrance for him to hasten in revising prosecution’s dossier over his allegations. He talked about the recent complains of using machine but now still hinders him from processing his case accordingly.
A former mayor of Nyakizu Commune in the Butare Prefecture, Ladislas Ntaganzwa was indicted in 1996 by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) for genocide and crimes against humanity for the massacres of thousands of Tutsis at various locations, including Cyahinda Parish and Gasasa Hill, during the 1994 Rwandan genocide against Tutsis.
He is further alleged to have orchestrated rape and sexual violence committed against many women.
Ladislas Ntaganzwa, one of nine ICTR fugitives wanted for trial for crimes committed during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, was transferred in March 2016 by the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Rwanda for trial, pursuant to an international warrant of arrest issued by the United Nations Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT).
