Evode Imena, the former State Minister at the Ministry of Natural Resources (MINIRENA) is in police custody for allegedly relative cases of risky and inefficient decision-making while he was serving the Government.
ACP Theos Badege, the police Communication Officer and Spokesperson, confirmed the news saying that Imena was arrested on Friday after previous investigations on some ‘improper and unclear’ decisions taken while he was Minister, where some of them were made sympathetically.
However, he avoided to give more clarifications about the allegations saying it is all about the charges related to his past responsibilities when he was the Minister at MINIRENA.
Imena is now sharing the allegation situation with his two former partners in crime who are also in custody while the police are conducting further investigations concerning this case.
Imena was introduced in the government cabinet in 2013 at the age of only 28 as the State Minister in charge of Mineral exploitation at MINIRENA.
His arrest follows few months after President Paul Kagame kicked him out of the cabinet as when he reshuffled the Government back in October 2016.
Reports claim that Imena and some of the authorities at the Rwanda Natural Resources Authority (RNRA) were arrested following ‘mistakes related to Mineral resources exploitation’ done during his reign as a State Minister.
