Congolese armed forces have intensified patrols and increased troop deployments along the border with Uganda and Rwanda, following reports the M23 rebels could intensify activities in the area.
The move comes just days after DRC forces and Rwandan military exchanged fire in Rutshuru on Tuesday. Whwereby three were short dead.
Congolese forces say they are dealing with an incursion of Rwandan forces inside the DRC territory.
Rwandan army spokesperson, Lt Col Innocent Munyengango promised to release a detailed statement on the matter, Chimpreports has learnt.
He said Rwanda did not lose any soldier in the conflict. It appears two DRC soldiers were felled by Rwandan gunfire.
The Joint ICGLR Verification Mechanism (EVJM) on Thursday toured the area where the fighting took place to commence investigations especially to determine if the clash was caused by poor border demarcation.
