Members of RPF-inkotanyi in Gasabo District who have gathered to campaign for the ruling party’s candidate, incumbent president, Paul Kagame ahead of the presidential elections slated for August 4th.
The district residents turned up for the campaign in big numbers to support before he arrives in the district, which is his final rally venue where he will conclude his campaign on August 2, two days before highly anticipated elections take place.
The function was attended by different government officials, led by City of Kigali Mayor and RPF-Inkotanyi chairperson Pascal Nyamurinda.
Speaking at the function, Nyamurinda told residents that RPF candidate Kagame needs their support to continue building the nation together, like it has been happening during the last 23 years since he, and his RPF partners stopped Genocide which cost over a million of Tutsi lives in the process.
He said, “together with Kagame and RPF-Inkotanyi, we can celebrate that Gasabo has achieved a lot in the process of building the nation thanks to the country’s good governance, economic welfare, security and infrastructure. But we need to protect and maintain our achievements by even doing much more in the future. So, you need to show him the support by voting for him when the elections date sets to remain in the same path towards development”
Residents also said they are ready to support their candidate and are looking forward to traveling another journey with him for another seven years to continue the country’s rebuilding process together.
“Kagame is a friend of all generations like adults, children and us, youth. For me, I could even struggle to get a Rwf 100 coin but since he introduced ‘Made in Rwanda’ policy, I found out that I can use my knowledge in shoemaking and I am earning a lot of money from shoes that I made. I think we can make a good choice during elections and I believe he has a lot to deliver yet in the future,” said VedasteUwingeneye, the manager of Isheja Cooperative, a shoemaking cooperative in Gatsata.
Gasabo is Kagame’s last rally venue according to the RPF-Inkotanyi candidate’s campaign schedule, which will close on August 2.
