PM urges hardworking to fully self-sponsor of national budget

The Prime Minister Dr. Anastase Murekezi remarks on tax payers day on 22 August 2016 that Rwandans need hardworking to achieve targeted goal to 100% sponsor national budget.

In his remark, he states how paying taxes is crucial basis to maintain country’s development, “Paying taxes is the foundation of the countries’ development; no country has ever developed without taxes”.

According to prime minister who presides the celebration of tax payers day on behalf of his excellence, Rwandans have experienced taxes expediency even if they do not yet achieve the required point.

“Even if we enjoy Rwandan awareness about voluntary tax paying, we have not yet achieved targeted point. Infrastructures like roads, electricity, water pumps, hospitals and schools are based on tax paying”.

The sellers and buyers urged to maintain the use of electronic billing machine, EBM to avoid any tax abusers.


Among tax payers on the fourteenth celebration of tax payers day, Bralirwa and Alimentation la Gardienne awared as honorary tax payers.

Rwanda Revenue Authority collected 1001,3 billion Rfws as Taxes in 2015/16 Fiscal Year, over the early target of Rwf 903 billion. The theme of today’s tax payer is “Voluntary tax compliance, the pillar for self-reliance.”
