President Kagame to visit Uganda amid bilateral ties tensions

President Paul Kagame is expected to visit Uganda tomorrow, Sunday March 25, 2018, A Ugandan famous Journalist and poliyical issues analyst, Andrew Mutebi Mwenda has revealed.

Andrew Mwenda has tweeted Kagame will have a one day working visit for a meeting with Uganda counterpart,Yoweli Museveni.

It is alleged this will be a follow up on the Addis Ababa meeting of February.

“The aim is to find a solution to the tension between the two countries” Mwenda Tweeted

Kagame’s visit is shortly after President Museveni cancelled his trip to Kigali where he was expected to attend AU Summit.

Meanwhile, the tensions between Uganda and Rwanda started in 2017 whereby Uganda accused Rwanda of illegal repatriation of Rwandan refugees, espionage to name those few.

On the other hand, Rwanda refuted these allegations saying it is Uganda’s hostility to imprison ‘innocent’ Rwandans who are travelling in Uganda.
