The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has on Wednesday released the final list of 6.897.076 Rwandan voters who will vote ahead of presidential elections slated for August 4th, 2017.
The list was published after the electoral commission has extended the check-in and correction of delayed registration process on the electoral list
Thus the list is released as follows:
The total of all voters eligible to vote 6.897.076 , including 3.723.119 females, corresponding to 54% of the total voting population while men occupy and 3.170.957 males, corresponding to 46%. Youth (women and men) is almost comparable to that of men, 45% or 3.131.782.
Last week the electoral body had issued an average of 6.888,962 voters, that is, the number of the final list is slightly higher.
Around 3.900,000 Rwandans were elected in 2003, so the number of voters almost doubled in over the last fourteen years.
The budget for 2017 elections is 5.5 billion Rwandan francs, 500 million less than 2010 elections. The share of the government is 95% while 5% come from government stakeholders’ support.
Internal contribution increased by 32% compared to 2003, while Rwanda used 63% of its own budget.
