The former Executive Secretary of The National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG), Jean de Dieu Mucyo dies early Monday on 3rd October 2016 over stairs incident.
His death confirmed by executive secretary of CNLG, Dr Jean Damascene Bizimana, “He dies of stairs incident while going to work”.
Jean de Dieu Mucyo has been serving for the government for many years. He has headed The National Independent Commission Charged with gathering evidence to show the implication of the French government in the genocide perpetrated in Rwanda in 1994, commonly referred to as the Mucyo commission.

Twitter reactions upsurge after the incident. twitter user Vincent Ntaganira posted, ‘My heart is suffering and full of sorrow due to abrupt death of Honorable Mucyo Jean de Dieu who has been our elder sibling, May God receive you!’
In 2008, he was appointed as executive secretary of The National Commission for the Fight against Genocide after concluding nicknamed Mucyo Commission of 2006-2007.
Late Mucyo has was prosecutor-general and before then Minister of Justice. he has also had a long military career behind him.
