The Terror group al-Shabaab has paraded six Somali government soldiers who have defected. The soldiers are said to have deserted the Jubbaland state authority and joined the terrorists for unknown reasons.
The terror group paraded the six defectors on Tuesday, October 18, at its headquarters in Jilib, southern Somalia.
Al-Shabaab released several photos of the six soldiers on its affiliated websites.
The photos showed the soldiers armed with AK 47 rifles and clad in military uniform standing side by side in Jilib.
The soldiers were based in Kismayu which is the headquarters of the Jubbaland state, the reason for their defection is not yet known.
Jubbaland authorities are yet to comment on the defection of its soldiers who are said to have deserted the state before joining the militant group.
The terror group has in the past paraded defectors from the Somali National Army and and its affiliate states as a propaganda tool.
