Presidential campaigns are edging the climax and RPF’s flag bearer Paul Kagame is confident that only victory is going to be between his, RPF and Rwandans’ hands ahead of the presidential polls scheduled on August 4th.
Kagame’s confidence to win elections is rising day after day and can’t wait the day of elections to sing the song of victory given the way he is bound to residents wherever he goes for campaign.
While trailing his campaign in Burera District, Kagame told residents, “Voting means the freedom to choose: choose good politics, education, health, prosperity. We have everything. We have you and you have Kagame and RPF. Other fellow political parties, too, are there for us. So we can’t fail. The reason we are able to move forward is because of each of you, coming together”
Burera is one of the districts that still struggle with roads for easy transport. However, Kagame promised to solve the issue as long as the residents vote for him.
“We fought and won battles here in Burera, we are now working to build this country. The dusty roads that we see here in Burera will soon be a history. What is ahead of us is hard work to ensure there is nothing standing in the way of every Rwandan improving their lives. After we make the right choice on 4th August, we have continue the hard work needed to achieve prosperity”
Kagame shifted his campaign to Nemba site in Gakenke District where he was welcomed by over 150 000 residents who were waiting to support him.
He reminded residents they should keep in mind where they were in comparison to where they are at the moment, and think of what the future bears for them, saying that, with RPF, they can even go further.
“Where we have come from and the journey of transformation we are on; that is what RPF stands for.The progress under RPF leadership you have heard about is real. RPF Inkotanyi walks the talk and delivers on its promises. We want to leave our tragic past behind and work hard to build the kind of future we deserve,” he told Gakenke residents.
“When people are determined & when they work together, nothing is impossible. We have the responsibility to transform our own nation. Others may come and help but the foundation of it all is each of us. You are the foundation of our progress, without you security, transformation, unity would not be possible,” he added, begging residents to ignore those who chose for them how to live and instead focus on the life of their own choice.
“Being told how we should live and who should lead us lasted too long in our and Africa’s history. If the choices of those who give us lessons were the right ones, why didn’t those choices lead to transformation?” Kagame wondered.
Kagame will campaign on Tuesday in Gicumbi before he closes his rally back in Gasabo on August 2.
