Burundi’s Nkurunziza shuns Mkapa’s reports saying it does not address Rwanda’s alleged destabilisation
Burundi’s Pierre Nkurunziza has opposed EAC appointed Tanzanian leader as a facilitator in Burundi political crisis, Benjamin Mkapa saying it does not include the role of Rwanda in the chaos that took place in Burundi since May, 2015.
A confidential letter addressed to President of Uganda and current Chairman of EAC, Yoweri Museveni seen by Bwiza.com states that Rwanda had a hand in a planned coup d’etat against Nkurunziza on May 13, 2015.
The part of the letter reads as follows:
In contrast, Rwanda’s officials have denied all these allegations claiming there is no profit in destabilising Burundi.
