Israel to open embassy in Kigali
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met with Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame on sidelines of UN General Assembly in USA.
The discussion, according to Kagame’s recent tweet, was about to strengthening bilateral ties.
“Had a good meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, discussed strengthening mutually beneficial partnership with Africa and reaffirmed commitment to bilateral relations including opening an embassy in Rwanda soon,” Kagame tweeted.
Rwanda and Israel have long time partnership.Recently, there has been partnership on how Rwanda receives immigrants from Israel.
However, the initiative was widely criticized by both local and international human rights organizations claiming Rwanda does not deserve to host these refugees mainly from Eritrea and Sudan.
