Rwanda’s President Kagame has reminded citizens that it is important to keep remembering the struggle that has stopped genocide against the Tutsi in 1994.
Kagame reminded Rwandans while Speaking at The Liberation Ceremony today at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
He said it is important to keep in mind the struggle as time passes on for it was a message for saving lives which is beyond military action.
“RPA soldier stopped the genocide on July, 7th, it is now 25th anniversary and it is important to keep remembering the struggle as times goes on. The struggle was beyond a military action as it must be understood, but it was a message for saving lives.” Kagame said
During his speech, Kagame also talked about the battalion which was in CND during struggle.
“ For example, the battalion which was in parliament, not far from this stadium. They were violently attacked, yet they saved lives of people who were incarcerated in this stadium.” Kagame added
The Head of State has thanked individuals who have participated in the liberation of Rwanda.
