Rwanda says there is a plan to send a delegation in Libya to pay visits the immigrants ahead of relocation plan.
Rwanda’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of East African Community, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe told KT Press on yesterday that the development will take place amid discussions on the planned relocation.
“We are still working with the AU and the Government of Libya on a MoU on the Emergency Transit Mechanism related to the relocation of the 500 refugees from Libya to Rwanda,” he said
“We will also send a team to visit them in Libya. You will be informed as we advance in the process,” he added
Meanwhile, according to sources, the initiative to take in about 500 immigrants was Rwanda’s offer in 2017. It is reportedly, relocation plan will be funded by funded by AU and the European Union (EU).
