Ntakirutimana Theoneste, head of the ADEPR Church in Uganda was abducted yesterday, 28 March 2019 in Kampala by security operatives.
A week before, on 22 March 2019 the same had happened to Cyusa Jean Paul, another member of ADEPR in the Ugandan capital. This followed the abduction of a woman, Peace Lydia Mahoro on 18 March 2019. Also, on 19 March 2019 a man called Habimana Issa was taken away.
It is alleged that they have suffered this treatment on suspicion of “working for the interests of Rwanda” Virunga Post has learnt
As of now their whereabouts still unknown to their relatives.
Meanwhile, Rwandan officials say about 200 Rwandans are in Uganda’s prisons while 900 have been repatriated.
Rwanda has condemned what she termed illegal arrested and torture of Rwandans in Uganda. However, Uganda denies all allegations citing all arrested have to something with espionage.
As a result, Rwandans were advised its citizens not to travel in Uganda for the sake of their safety.
