Rwanda’s inflation rises to 1.7percent,report says
Rwanda National Institute of Statistics report says Inflation has risen to 1.7 percent in April from 0.9 percent in March.
The statistics office said today Thursday April 10th, 2018 has said The Urban Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.7 percent on annual basis and increased by 1.3 percent on a monthly basis.
The report dated April 10th, 2018 shows annual average rate between April 2018 and April 2017 is 2.7 percent.
The Rural CPI decreased by 1.3 percent on an annual basis and increased by 2.4 percent on a monthly basis.
The Rwanda CPI decreased by 0.1 percent on an annual basis and increased by 1.9 percent on a monthly basis.
In 2017, inflation rate for Rwanda was 4.8 %. Though Rwanda inflation rate fluctuated substantially in recent years, it tended to increase through 1998 – 2017 period ending at 4.8 % in 2017.
