The musician turned politician, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has reportedly escaped from his house where he has been heavily guarded by the police, local newspapers report
The ‘Ghetto Gladiator’ was forced into house arrest following his call for demonstration after his Easter Monday Kyarenga Extra concert was cancelled by the Police.
Since then, Police has deployed thousands of uniformed men with guns around the parliamentarian’s residence in Magere, Kyadondo East, Wakiso District.
Famous blogger Ashburg Kato said despite the heavy security deployment, the Kyarenga singer managed to find his way out.
He could have escaped during the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Other sources have intimated to Watchdog Uganda that Police still believe that there is a possibility Bobi Wine is still hiding inside his mansion. A house search since morning has yielded no results.
The search for the singer has also been extended to Semakokiro Plaza where his studio has also been sealed off by the Police and Military.
On Tuesday during a presser at his home in Magere, Bobi Wine said that he will be holding peaceful demonstrations as a way of protesting police continued blocking of his concerts.
