Some terrorist groups target Rwanda, says Rtd Maj Gen Frank Mugambage
Rwanda’s Ambassador to Uganda Rtd Maj Gen Frank Mugambage has said that there are “terrorist groups” that are operating on Uganda soil while aiming to attack Rwanda.
Ambassador Mugambage made this remark on Wednesday night during celebrations to mark the Liberation Day, Chimpreports has published
“Some terrorist groups target Rwanda,” he said, adding, “These are issues that are being discussed and talked about through these channels (diplomacy).”
Rwanda’s envoy emphasized Uganda has failed to investigate this issue which threatens Rwanda’s security.
“The failure to investigate incidents brought to your (Uganda) attention involving terrorists” was a matter of deep concern to Rwanda” he said
The Ambassador’s remarks come following strained bilateral ties between both country since last year.
Rwanda believes Uganda is harboring Rwandan dissidents including former Rwanda Defence Forces Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Kayumba Faustin Nyamwasa.
On other hand, Uganda accuses Rwanda of espionage and illegal repatriation of Rwandan refugees to name a few.
