Officials who participated in the arrangements for Museveni’s trip have dismissed various reports saying that Museveni cancelled his trip to Kigali after Rwandan officials refused to cooperate with them.
These officials claim “There was maximum cooperation.” Chimpreports has learned
“We were give priority to get his usual preferred venue, the presidential suite at Kigali Serena Hotel. There was nothing like lack of cooperation from the Rwandan side.” They added
“For logistics, we even got more rooms than other delegations.” They emphasized
Moreover, these officials declare it is not true that Ugandan advance team failed to get a hold of Rwandan security officials for meetings, “Our people already had the security and liaison officers.”
Uganda Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Patrick Mugoya was quoted as saying there was no need for alarm as the country was “well represented by Minister Sam Kutesa.”
President Museveni has canceled his trip to Kigali where he was expected to attend an African Union (AU) Summit in Kigali where the AfCFTA pact was signed by 44 State parties.
