Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Minister meets up with President Kagame as diplomatic ties weakened


Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa  met with Rwanda President, Paul Kagame at Village Urugwiro in Kigali yesterday.

Minister, Sam Kutesa has met President Kagame to discuss on how to solve and nourish bilateral relations issues besides recent tensions.

The information got by Chimpreports says President Kagame was “relaxed” during discussions attended by only one senior official, the Foreign Affairs and East African Community Minister, Louise Mushikiwabo.

Sam Kutesa’s trip comes after his government responded to Rwanda’s diplomatic note seeking clarification on the operations of Rwanda National Congress members in Kampala.

Rwanda and Uganda’s diplomatic ties has faced heightened tensions recently due to the movement of dissidents, harassment of refugees and failure to implement joint infrastructure projects.
