Green Party Strengthens Grassroots Structures in Musanze

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda has proceeded its efforts to establish grassroots structures across the country, with party president Hon. Dr. Frank Habineza leading a training session for members in Musanze District.

The event, held on October 10, 2026, was attended by guests from Denmark and marked the establishment of party structures in Muhoza and Cyuve sectors. The exercise is expected to continue in the district’s remaining 13 sectors.

During his interaction with party members, Dr. Habineza highlighted key principles underpinning the party’s objectives, including democracy and environmental protection.

The discussion also provided an opportunity for members to exchange views on their role in national development and their participation in governance.

Dr. Habineza reiterated that the party prioritises peaceful politics, mutual respect and tolerance, stressing the need for sustainable political engagement free from discrimination.

“We need sustainable politics, and we put politics of mutual respect first. We do not need politics of discrimination,” he said.

The initiative is part of the party’s nationwide programme to establish structures in all 416 sectors across Rwanda. The programme began in Burera District, continued in Gicumbi, and has now reached Musanze.

Through the initiative, the party seeks to strengthen its grassroots presence and encourage members to contribute to national development while promoting democracy, peace and environmental conservation.
