Salwan Momika, a 38-year-old man who made headlines after burning the Quran, was shot and killed in Sweden, according to local media reports.
The Iraqi national, who was living in Sweden, was shot on Wednesday evening at his home in Södertälje, near Stockholm.
Police reported that five people were arrested following the shooting of the man in his 40s.

Momika became widely known for his protests in 2023, where he burned the Quran near mosques, sparking tensions and protests in many predominantly Muslim countries.
In August 2023, Momika was charged along with another person with "defaming a group of people" on four separate occasions.
The Stockholm court was scheduled to issue a verdict on Thursday but announced the case was postponed after confirming his death.
Sweden had initially allowed Momika to burn the Quran under freedom of expression laws but later stated it would consider restricting such protests in certain circumstances.
